What is Autism Clinical Services?

Autism Clinical Services provides both psychological and social work services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families.

Who can access these services?

Any person up to the age 18, diagnosed with and Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autism, Asperger Syndrome or Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified), or their families, can apply for services.  Agencies supporting individuals with ASD may also request services.

Please note: These services are not available to schools. If your child is experiencing issues related to attending school, or challenges associated to participating in the school curriculum, it is the responsibility of the school personnel to work with you in supporting your child. Provincially funded school boards are able to access the School Support Program (SSP) available at Child Care Resources. This program has been designed to support teachers in developing strategies that will assist them in supporting your child. Referrals to SSP must be requested by the teacher, and all recommendations are developed in the context of the school setting.

What does the program offer?

The program offers clinical services in both psychologyand social work.  Assessments may be diagnostic or developmental.  Such assessments may include standardized testing, as well as interviews and observations inthe client's environment(s).
