Inclusion Support Program

Child Care Resources Integration Department special needs criteriaWhat is Inclusion Support?

The Inclusion Support Program provides assistance to include children with special needs in Early Learning and Child Care programs.  A team of highly trained Resource Consultants work with the child care staff and other community agencies to bring specialized services, equipment, staff or other supports necessary to Early Learning and Child Care programs.

Who can take part in the program?

The program is offered to licensed Early Learning and Child Care programs in the City of Greater Sudbury and the First Nations of Manitoulin, to assist with the inclusion of children with special needs. 

What does the program offer?

Child Care Resources has trained resource consultants who provide:

  • program support including resources, training, and curriculum enhancement
  • developmental screening, and consultations
  • assistance to develop individual plans for children to support their participation in licensed programs
  • regular visits to child care centres to assist educators in developing and carrying out activities that are part of each child’s plan
  • help to access specialized equipment / materials 
  • assistance with transition to school plans 
  • information, resources, and linkages to other services
