What is Out-of-Home Respite?
Out-of-Home Respite (OHR) is a service that provides parents / caregivers of children with special needs with relief time, outside the family home.
OHR is provided in a variety of settings, depending on family needs and preferences.
Who can take part in the program?
Any parent in the Sudbury-Manitoulin District with a child who is under 18 years of age, living at home, and who has a developmental or physical disability, or multiple special needs is eligible for OHR services.
What does the program offer?
Child Care Resources offers families Activity days that parents can use for outings or camp support, while supporting integration into the community. The Activity days are flexible to each family's unique needs, and provide trained staff to work with each child.
